The Journey
Ten years ago, a dedicated and faithful woman planted a seed in our midst. Hazel Powers left the church a generous memorial donation, a gift from her will, to support the food pantry, church ministries, and to start an "elevator fund." Who would have imaged the possibilities realized from this one gift?
…with faith like that of a mustard seed… (Mark 4:30-32)
Now a decade later, our congregation enjoys a beautiful new sanctuary, a brand new organ, state of the art technology. Our food pantry begun years ago in a closet under the stairs, has grown to house a 2,000 sw. foot food warehouse to meet the needs of many in our congregation. We have a brand new kitchen. Our crib room and offices have been remodeled. Our previous sanctuary has become Fellowship Hall. For all of this we give thanks to God and invite new generations into faith. From one seed grew a tremendous project!
What we imagined together, let us complete!
The challenge for FCC in the next few years is to continue moving closer to God in support of our building project. Our prayers, presence and financial donations are needed as much as they have ever been. In faith, each of us can go to God and ask, "Lord, what would you have me do to further your mission at FCC – a mission too important to put on hold." This is an opportunity for willing sacrifice in the spirit of love. With God in our choices, we can quickly pay our debts and focus more of our resources on keeping Christ's work alive and active in our church and community.
